I recently came into possession of this magazine I don't know what it's for or even what caliber I just know it it's not 7.62 x 39 although it's pretty close (and it's not ak) atleast not a norinco. .. Or some reason I can only put one picture the front of the mag has a small square about a quarter inch down from the feed lips

It looks a little like a mag for a Czech 58, but that's 7.62X39. Then there was the Czech VZ 52 which was made in 2 calibers 7.62X39 and 7.62X45.

That's a really bad photo. Can you take a clearly focused photo of the feed area, the magazine catch, the entire magazine, and the floorplate? From what you have there (very blurry), it looks familiar, but the bell's not ringing yet. I know I've seen that magazine catch before, but the bells aren't going off yet.

I think you may be on to something there, that does look like a Vz 52 magazine catch. There were a small number of Vz 52's converted to 7.62x39 that were imported into the US years ago. Many have modified any number of magazines (mostly AR mags) to work in Vz 52's.
