When I was stationed in Lubbock I had a girlfriend who was a Braniff flight attendant. She lived in the same apartment complex with two Braniff pilots who were native Texans and Tea-sips (look it up).

In 1978, the last year of production of the seventh generation Cadillac El Dorado, they ordered a special El Dorado to drive in the parade before the Texas-Oklahoma game. It was metallic orange with an orange leather interior, a pair of six-foot wide longhorns for a hood ornament, and a horn that played the opening bars of "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You".

CaptainGyro,

When I was a "denizen of the 40 Acres" in 1965, a local Austin physician & UT EX had a 1930s Denham-bodied Packard sedan convertible painted Burnt Orange & White, that he drove to all the Longhorn games.

Cut me & I bleed Burnt Orange.

yours, sw

Just some useless trivia but for any who didn't know March 2 was also Sam Houston's birthday.
