Any provenance on who carried it and where? Those look like notches to me. Could some Nazi have been notching the grip for each resistance member he executed.

Too bad the grips can't talk. It's an exceptional addition to any collection. The notches look like they were cut with a knife.
Norway isn't known for land battles during WWII but there was resistance activity in support of a number of commando raids.
Germany also occupied Lapland to control some natural resources such as nickle mines. How did the Laps respond to the occupation?

Most likely the cuts in the grip are from concealed carry. The advantage of the small military pistol was constant carry. Especially in unfriendly territory during WWII.
