Yep, McAuliffe caved.

They got so much mail from folks that were simply refusing to transit VA anymore once their reciprocity got dropped that this recently passed measure was cobbled up to save face.

We're winning - it just doesn't always look like it.

He got Troopers working gun shows available to perform -voluntary- background checks for private sales.

That's not a catch as long as there aren't any kept records (which is itself a BIG catch)... I mean, if I had an instant check where the record would be purged immediately if buyer isn't a Prohibited Person, I'd insist on them every time in my own personal transactions.

I don't see a problem with that. We ALL have an interest in keeping the minority of criminals/crazies from buying guns ANYWHERE.

Also, the VSP may even snare a few WANTED criminals, while they are there.
(Every crook that gets arrested is one less to prey upon the innocents.)
