I saw the recent posts about other people's "Tanker" M1's and I just took mine out to the range this past weekend. I had a gunsmith put on the barrel and headspace it since I don't have those tools but I put the rest of it together with the Numrich kit and other parts. Overall the rifle functioned well after I got the adjustable gas plug tuned. Luckily one of my friends has a wood shop and experience with refinishing, so he helped me with the shortened handguard fit. Numrich just sawed a normal handguard off and you have to inlet the wood to fit into the band.

I didn't test the accuracy though since I also took my Polytech M14 that I just got and I spent most of the time getting the gas system properly adjusted. It was still a lot of fun to shoot, though. I might work on the handguards to get the colors to match, but here is a picture:
