Post office just dropped off this free baseball-style NRA hat I got for working outdoors up here. I already have my black waterproof boonie hats for Puerto Rico, but this cap is for NYC and surrounding areas. Occasionally, I have to take long walks or do outdoor work, and I really can't take the sun. In Puerto Rico I have to have the bigger hats for more protection, but this will do fine for here. It was offered free for some extra contribution having to do with emergency legislation thingy. I needed the hat, and I had the $22, so why not.

Also, my new Don't Tread On Me coffee mugs, one for here, one to be shipped to Puerto Rico with some other stuff later, are both made in China. I bought those as a ride along to this special they were offering via Newsmax.com on a Geneva Bible, pocket constitution and a hardbound pictorial history of George Washington. Can't complain, like my coffee enough in the mug, but I kind of thought that stuff from a place called The Patriot Depot wouldn't be made in China. Or the NRA.

I mean, if the stuff is good quality, and there's not some chemical or dye leaching off in to my mouth or being absorbed in to my scalp when I wear the hat, fine, make it wherever you want. Enrich the world, spread capitalism, right?

It just seemed funny to me.
