I got an email from the CMP this morning saying they are selling a new book on the M1 carbine, with blueprints, specs, etc for 29.95

Sounds like the Jerry Kuhnhausen Shop Manual.
These are the best gunsmithing books ever done.
They show factory type restoration only. None of the old making parts and heating and bending methods.

The military rifle manuals are all new info, not the usual reprints of old GI Ordnance manuals. The military manuals include blueprints of each part.
The Colt .45 Automatic manual has the prints in volume two.
