Looks like I joined in 2005 but never posted!? Glad to be here, looking forward to learning and sharing.

When I joined this site in 2005 I had a Class 03 FFL (C&R) and had purchased a Mosin M44 and a Swiss K-31. Moved from San Diego to Morton Grove, IL (long story) and ended up selling those rifles. Oddly, my favorite, and the one I seemed most accurate with iron sites was the M44. Hell of a kick and loud, but I loved that rifle. Recently purchased a new Kahr Arms/Auto Ordnance M1 carbine and started looking for info on it (like how to attach a repro sling and oiler) and was led back to this site.

Welcome, you guys had a handgun ban at one time but I believe that got terminated.

Back in July of 2008 Morton Grove repealed the nearly 30 year ban on handgun possession.

Fwiw, one of my cousins bought an arsenal refurbished M44 carbine a few years ago ( for, I think I remember, 40 bucks) & has killed at least a dozen WT deer & I don't know how many feral pigs, coyotes with it.

YEP, somewhat "crude-looking" & LOUD but he LIKES it.
