Folks,
I added a new full size 9mm pistol to the battery. I chose the Walther Creed 9mm. $339.99 over the counter at Shooters of Jax Black Friday sale.

It specs about the same size as the SW9VE and the Glock 19. It feels good in my hand shoots accurately and reliably with 115 gr WW White Box 115 gr ball and 115 gr HP, just over 100 rounds fired. No problems at the range, other than heat, sweat and the usual Florida insect population.

S&W SW9VE
Bbl Lngt: 4"
OA Lngt: 7.2"
Width: 1.29"
Hgt: 5.6"
Wgt: 22.7 oz
Cap 9mm: 16+1

Glock 19
Bbl Lngt: 4"
OA Lngt: 7.28"
Width: 1.16"
Hgt: 4.99"
Wgt: 23.7 oz
Cap 9mm: 15+1

Walther Creed
Bbl Lngt: 4"
OA Lngt: 7.3"
Width: 1.3"
Hgt: 5.6"
Wgt: 27 oz
Cap 9mm: 16+1

Unlike the S&W I can easily get all 16 rounds in the magazine of the Walther and see the shiny brass through the 16 round hole in the side.

I checked the trigger pull, feels good, the Lyman gauge reports a consistent 5lbs 6 oz. It is a pre-cocked DA. I like the trigger more than my early SWaMPy 9c.

The Walther PPX magazine I ordered was in the mailbox when I got home, figures, bless us Saint Murphy, but any excuse to go to the range is a good one. I will test some different rounds but early reports are it is very reliable.
There are sources which say the PPX magazine is the same, pictures look the same and at $19.99 plus 9.99 shipping from CDNN, I gave it a shot. More to follow if the test magazine works.

The sights work for me, but next week I go in for my first Cataract surgery. Wish me luck!

Who intends to move this to bedside gun slot in his battery and move the SWaMPy 9c to carry in the fanny pack.

For the last couple of months CDNN has been selling Walther PPXs for $280 to $300. I considered it, but paying the charge, shipping and transfer fees would make it more expensive than the Creed.

Update, I got 3 PPX magazines, they work fine with a variety of 9mm ammo.

I am getting my new glasses Wednesday after the Cataract operations. I waited until final clearance to go to the range...about four hours after I left the Doctors.

Who notes the PPX magazine is up to $24.99 sigh..for once I got the deal.

I have the new tri-focals, had to go to Palm Coast to get them. A world of difference the astigmatism is corrected and I can see my monitors. Now to get out "Death of a Citizen" and try reading.

Gun test Monday with the new glasses.

So nice to see that the PPX has reasonably priced magazines. My new CZ P-07 is a great pistol, but unfortunately when you factor in shipping costs (because you're NOT going to find them at the local gun shop), mags are nearly $50.00 ea. That's just WAY too much if you ask me. Unfortunately Mec-Gar's are no cheaper.

I think you're going to be really happy with your Creed. It's a great pistol, well thought out and designed, and the manufacture quality is excellent.

Interesting, you should check the manufacturers and/or importers website for local dealers. Shootersjax.com has CZ over the counter.

You might also check the EAA magazines for their Glock clones.
