I don't know about everyone else, but I am disgusted and angered over what happened to Nick Berg. It would be bad enough if he were a soldier, but it is made worse by the fact that his only involvement was being a worker trying to do a rebuilding job in Iraq.

Here is a link to pictures of what happened --- WARNING--VERY GRAPHIC-- DO NOT CLICK LINK IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO SEE WHAT IS THERE!!!!!!! THESE ARE FROM AN ARABIC WEBSITE AND ARE STILLS FROM THE VIDEO! GRAPHIC PHOTOS

The link is not working right now, probably overloaded. I agree with you. When something this repugnant is done in the name of a God, you have to wonder about that God!

Notice they are all hiding their faces too!

Ed
Ed,
I don't think you have to wonder about that God.
This isn't His work.
It does show me several points, however. It proves to me that these people will not be happy until every non-Moslem
American is dead. It shows me that somehow, being brutally, painfully, agonizingly decapited is in some way equal to being embarassed and humuliated. Embarassment is not torture.

I know this is not the work of true Moslems. This is credited to an extemist fundamentalist. Still, I have to wonder, if an extreme fundamentaist Minister, Priest, or Rabbi had done this, wouldn't the mainstream Christians and Jews be decrying this act and call for the removal of the one who did this? Where are the voices of the Moslems who reject this act? Where are the cries from within
their own community from those who beleive this is not the way of Islam? To us, this is a political war, although we invoke the name of God to gives us wisdom and victory. To them, it is a religious war and we must realize they are in it to the end.
It saddens me to believe that I, as an infidel, must in their eyes, be purged from the earth, but it seems that is what they want.
I hope I am wrong. But this is so senseless.

I grieve for the Berg family. It must be so hard for them. My heart and prayers go out to them.

If you are speaking only of Iraq, I agree. But if we would look around the world, it becomes obvious they want all non-Muslims dead. There was a massacre of Christians by Muslim fanatics in Nigeria yesterday. Then there's the Phillipines, Sri Lanka, et nauseum. :(
I think they need to read their book a little more closely! Yesterday there were several headlines stating something to the effect of "Arabs/Moslems revolted by beheading...", etc., but when you read the articles the responses were about 50/50 as to whether they agreed with the beheading of a civilian as an appropriate action or not.

I fear for the world my children will inherit.

These are radical, fundamentalist Muslims who are still firmly convinced that we inhabit the 7th Century. IMHO, they have the same problem with willing, prideful ignorance that extreme fundamentalist Christians do. EVERYBODY needs to wake up and smell the coffee brewing!

Yep, what ever happend to good old respect for others beliefs even if you don't agree with them?

There's the rub isn't it! They seem to think that it's all Okie Dokey.
Same scumbags danced in the streets when the towers came down.
Same scumbags pile numerous arms, ammo, RPG's, etc. into a mosque and yell that the thing gets shot at or raided.

May they all get Daisy Cutters delivered to their doorstep.
I am chiming in, but not to get involved in a discussion, since I said right from the beginning that I would not do that during my tenure on this web site. All I wanted to say is that I have seen the video, a copy where the video and audio portions were not properly synchronized, and the audio portion being very bad, then on Friday I got to hear the clear, very clear audio on the opening of Mike Savage's show.

Despite my 11 years in the funeral business from 1985-96, despite the fact that I have been exposed to some of life's most profoundly chilling moments, in my own life and in hearing certain stories from various people including Vietnam vets, cop friends, firefighters, etc., despite the fact that I knew what I was about to see, nothing could have "prepared" me for what I did see, and after about half a week to contemplate what I saw, I am still chilled and more silent than usual, and that's saying something. It was so chilling, so horrifying, this young man actually having his head painstakingly sawed off while being tied up and held down, screaming in pain. He did not die in a mere few seconds, but I suspect it took at least 15-20 seconds.

It was, and the memory still is quite, quite horrifying, leaving me to ponder how much more I wish The Lord would just come already. God help us all, this pot (the state of the world) is boiling to a fever pitch.

That only happens in America where we have a Constitution that lays the ground work for freedom of religion.
