When I read this story, my blood pressure just about went through the roof!

I know that compared to all of the other problems this country is facing, this may seem insignificant. But dammit, this is government intrusion so blatant and vulgar that it sickens me.

Preschooler's Homemade Lunch Replaced With Nuggets | Fox News

The lunch packed by the mother of this 4 year old seems completely healthy to me...healthier by a long shot than processed fried-then-flash-frozen chicken nuggets! And the mother didn't find out until she was billed for the lunch, which I personally think may be the whole impetus behind this fiasco.

How far are we going to let government dictate every facet of our lives?

I'm glad I ain't that little girls daddy. I'd probably be in jail.

That is a typical way of justifying one's position.

It's a matter of numbers. Had the idiot done nothing she/he wouldn't have
a count of how many "good" things she/he had accomplished that day/week/month.

One thing that pi***s me off is them telling us what kind of light bulbs we must
put in our house.

This is just a "preview of coming attractions" of the raw power we'll see unleashed if OJbama is re-elected. IMHO, a second term for him means America is finished as a free nation. He must be defeated, so once again I will hold my nose and vote for whatever sad lump of tired old protoplasm wins the Republican nomination.

As you recall, OJbama said that he wanted to "fundamentally transform this nation," and far as I can tell it's the only thing he's ever told the truth about. Most people didn't know what he meant at the time. Now, his meaning is becoming clearer every day.

I hate to burst your bubble Snake, but it's not like we're going to get anything significantly better from the Republican party. Everyone always speaks of doom and gloom for every presidency, and somehow America miraculously survives. I remember even myself preaching the end of the world should Clinton be re-elected. Then all the libs whining about Bush…TWICE. Everyone complaining about Obama's spending seems to forget that TARP was a republican plan, and so was stimulus (stimulus was just administered under Obama). Had McCain won we'd be right here in the same damn spot we're in now. I keep telling people, there ain't a plug nickel difference between these two parties. BOTH are big spending, big government, populist animals; and that aint likely to change.

So while I welcome the end of the Obama reign, I don't exactly celebrate what his replacement will be. We have to step away from these two parties…after all, they stepped away from us decades ago.

Neal Boortz is ranting on this right now (10:06AM-10:21AM). He just asked how far will the "people" allow government to go in their continued expansion into our lives.
Being in a slightly irritable mood this morning my reaction to Boortz's inquiry is probably best kept to myself lest I prompt the attention of Homeland Security.
But when you think our Founding Fathers staged protests over taxes that were only about 3% it does seem to make me wonder if we've turned into a nation of sheeple, at times. . . . . . . .

I know what you mean. Sorta like "the boy who cried wolf," there was no wolf.

Except for the last time.

I have to agree with Irish Cop though, I kinda consider the Turkey sandwich to be better than the processed and deep fried chicken nuggets. Sounds like a teacher with a serious case of self importance. I wouldn't read too much into this, it has nothign to do with Obama, or anyone else in office. It's about someone taking themselves WAY too friggin seriously, and we'll always have these idiots. (unfortunately).

This wasn't a teacher this was an agent of the state following gudelines established by The Department of health and Human services. A federal agency. Can you just see the little kiddies lined up as their lunches are inspected by someone like a TSA agent.

I'm not throwing this directly at the feet of Obamamama, but you gotta admit that this is exactly what Michelle is trying to implement for all of the poor ignorant masses who can't be trusted to make their own decisions.

I mean, they want sugar to be regulated like tobacco and alcohol, fer gosh sakes!

And as I read this story, this is apparently a school policy, not the random act of a teacher.

I am appalled at the reach of government at ALL levels (and this is from a guy who has worked for the government in one form or another his entire adult life).

Adam Carolla recently had a spot on his radio program berating the fact that they are banning frisbee's at the beaches in L.A. (They've already banned beer and canines).

We need a general revolt, directed at all levels of government, to just leave us the hell alone or be voted OUT of office.

Signed,

A fat assed smoker who drinks an occasional beer. ;)

There certainly is a role for schools where nutrition is concerned. My wife works at a very good school, in a very good area, and there are kids that go to that school, when they get their school lunch it’s the only square meal they get in a day; so there certainly is a need. But to throw away a home prepared turkey sandwich; that’s a person just taking themselves way too seriously.

Has anyone considered the possibility that this is the work of one incompetent bureaucrat wearing his/her ass for a hat while abusing their thimble full of power? Yes it was beyond stupid. The person responsible for this outrage couldn't properly identify a whole wheat turkey and cheese sandwich as grain, protein and dairy? This person needs to be identified, fired, publicly humiliated and ordered to pay for the cost of the kids lunch.

Now, if one wants to present this incident as an anecdote supporting an argument that advocates halving the size of the government nation wide I would be interested.

Always the end result when too much power is handed to too many people.

Geoff
Who notes when the Obama says "middle class" he means those folks directly employed by GOVERNMENT, just like any Turd World Dictatorship. Cross reference the Peron take over of car factories in Argentina.

to ALL,

i believe that obama/michelle see themselves as Juan & Eva Peron, circa 1950.

otoh, Michelle doesn't look as well in a mink coat, so she cannot play EVITA successfully.

BOTH of them make me GAG each/every time i see them on TV.

yours, sw
