The spillway has a problem. It has a giant hole. Oroville Dam is a large earth and rock fill dam completed in 1968. The lake impounds three and a half million acre feet of water. The spillway is built to the north of the dam. I know that even with the damage in the picture they ran the spillway at around fifty thousand CFS most of last night and today. Whatever crater you see in this video will be a lot bigger when they can shut the spillway down.
