I like leather (horsehide) for my Model 1911's, Sigs, S&Ws, Detonic, Safari Arms, etc. I think that the leather is a little easier on the guns finish.
I stick to the plastic for the plastic HKs and Glocks.
The only holster that I have had break (in cold weather) is an elcheapo Forbes.
