The world was supposed to end yesterday, but a Jimmy Buffett concert broke out instead. Jimmy came out on stage last night in Frisco, Texas literally holding the world on his shoulders. Well, literally it was a giant beach ball painted like a globe, but if anyone tells you that Parrotheads didn't save the world yesterday, spit in that messenger's eye, because they lie - we most certainly did. Jimmy and the Coral Reefers put on an awesome show - 30,000+ Parrotheads rocked for 2 1/2 hours in ParrotHead Park...er, Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. Buffett gets better with age, and if I had the money id quit work and follow the Reefers around the US.

If you ever get a chance to see Jimmy in concert, spend a few bucks and avail yourself of the opportunity. I've been to the last 2 Frisco shows, and I plan to keep going every year as long as I'm able and Jimmy keeps playing. Parrotheads rule!

P.S.- the title of this thread is from a JB song from 2006. He didn't play it live but a recorded version was played before the show. How apt .

Saw him here about 25 years ago; definately in the top half dozen or so of the scores of concerts I've attended. I'd have to put Steely Dan, the Stones, Linda Ronstadt, Heart and yes, Michael Jackson in that mix.

Jimmy did "Livingston's Gone to Texas" as his acoustic encore, first time he's done that song live since 1974.

He also did "Peanut Butter Conspiracy", which was beau coup cool, did "Off to See the Lizard" with a new verse about his fall from the stage in Australia, and included the "Lost Verse" in "Margaritaville".

Think about it. Macho Man dies a mere few days before the end of the world, then the world doesn't end. Sounds like someone up there was on the receiving end of a flying elbow. Thank you Macho Man! RIP! OOOOOOOOOO YAH!
