I see some great prices on this South African-manufactured ammo, and it's Boxer-primed, brass-cased and non-corrosive. Has anyone here used any of it? Is it any good, or are the low prices too good to be true?
I've shot several boxes of .45 and 9mm without any trouble. Accuracy seemed to be on par with WWB or other plinking ammo. They all went bang and ejected ok. Didn't really seem to be any dirtier than any other ammo.
I bought some SA milsurp .308/7.62 NATO ammo some years ago, and it works very well - as good or better than the highly-touted Aussie ammo that came in a while back. I'd expect the PMP to be on a par with that.
I fired a couple of boxes of the 200 grain .45ACP PMP awhile back. Little warm, according to my shot-book it chrono'd at around 950fps ave out of a five-inch 1911. don't know about other calibers. Within specs but....warm.
I shot a bunch of the 220 gr. .45ACP a few years back. Worked just fine...
