Polytech Industries M14 type rifles have been exported to the United States and Canada. I'm trying to build a list of serial numbers to see what serial number ranges were imported by various companies. Polytech Industries M14 type rifles exported to Canada and the United States have the model designations
"M-14/S", M14/S", "M14S" and "M-14S." If there are any other model designations please let me know.

If you don't mind please post Polytech Industries M14 serial numbers and the importers here or PM me. You can change the last digit or two to "X" for privacy. See separate thread for Norinco M14 rifles.

TIA,

Import marks. CAI ST ALB VT

KFS ATL GA
GCKarcher,

1) Is the marking CAI ST ALB VT on the barrel or the receiver?

2) Is the marking KFS ATL GA on the barrel or the receiver?

I'm wondering if someone installed a CAI marked barrel on to a KFS marked receiver. :?

Thanks,

Different

The markings are both on the barrel. The CAI marking is about 1/8 inch above the KFS marking. Both are on the left lower portion of the barrel looking toward the front sight.
Hmmmmm . . . . . Do you know if the rifle was imported with a military style hinged butt plate or a rubber butt pad and did it have a slotted flash suppressor with the bayonet lug or did it arrive with a bobbed or fake flash suppressor?

It had a stock with the rubber butplate. The flash suppressor was the cut off or bobbed one.
Thanks! I'm going to guess it came in for C A I. The bobbed flash suppressor and rubber butt pad were modifications done by Century Arms at their Canada facility before shipping the Chinese M14 rifles into the U. S after November, 1990.

My Poly Tech is marked on the heel as follows:

POLY TECH
M-14/S
7.62 NATO
0043X

The 1st import mark, KFS ATL. GA. is on the bottom of the barrel in fromt of the gas cylinder plug, MADE IN CHINA is stamped below KFS ALT. GA.
The 2nd import mark, C.A.I. ALB. VT. is 1/2 inch in front of the 1st import mark and also on the bottom of the barrel.
It came with a metal butt plate and a flash suppressor with baynet lug.
It's fit and finish is as good as the 8 Springfields that I own and the parkerizing is a dark gray like the Springfields. I purchased this rifle from the original owner. He stated that it came this way when he purchased it new in 89.
