This info is from a friend of mine.

Left side of the receiver
M-14S .308
IDE USA SFLD MICH. MADE IN
POLYTECH CHINA 225XX CHINA
The serial number and the made in china appears to be a fat electro pencil and rather poor while the other appears to be stamped.
3829 23 14 appears on the lowest part of the receiver on the left side forward. The bolt is marked on the bottom left side 25683. The left side of the trigger housing is marked 025683. The windage knob is marked WCF. It also says left and has the arrows. The flash suppressor is non-slotted.

Thank you! You are one of the biggest reasons I own one, now two. In researching what to buy I ran across one of your articles on AlphaRubicon. Really appreciate the knowledge and research you bring to this forum.

I just picked up yet another M14...will it ever stop?!?!?!?!

Side marked.

M-14S .308
IDE USA SFLD MICH.
POLYTECH CHINA

08660

MADE IN CHINA

Under the stock the numbers stamped are as follows:

10 17 18 1

There are no markings on the barrel, however, it appears to be original, PolyTech, the gas cyl, et al, also Chinese...everything else is USGI. Winchester bolt, HR trigger group, SAK Op Rod, Nat'l match sights, front and rear, USGI Flash suppressor, one BRW S1 magazine.. It came in a USGI fiberglass stock w/ slotted handguard (cracked). It might have been a little high @ $850.00, but the parts alone would probably bring that, so I took the plunge. My first ChiCom M14.
