Remember, back in the Wilson Era EVERYBODY started to think centrally-planned economies were the way to go--half the Ivory Tower Club were in love with Lenin/Stalin and the other half Hitler... And there was a fair amount of private capital lent to the Reds from the founding families of our financial oligarchy, too, for whatever reason--maybe they naively believed they'd get return of and on their investment.
Where's the late J. Edgar when you need him? He and his research assistant/ghostwriter Fern Stukenbroeker all but PREDICTED today's liberals in the 1958 book Masters of Deceit. Cross out "Communist" and write in "Democrat" or "Progressive" or "Occupier", and it's still just as true and eerily prophetic... as it should be, Agent Stukenbroeker's specialty was researching subversive and anti-American organizations and fringe groups.
Granted, there are a few quibbles in the OP's article... and it helps to consider that while print Pravda is still Commie agitprop, Pravda Online has become rather "politically promiscuous," in that they'll publish anything that generates traffic and ad revenue--you really have to check the article author's background with them.

From what I understand this article started out on a blog and was moved to print by Pravda.I also seem to hear that they have done this with more than one of this fellas blog entries so they Pravda watch what he writes.That may explain acouple of the inaccuracies some observe.
