If anyone has Jeff Cooper's Commentaries handy, I just found a part of August 1997 where Col. Cooper points out what a ludicrous anti-gun comment our favorite White House Chief of Staff made in USA Today.

Let me save everybody the trouble:

From USA Today we discover that there is a Senior White House Advisor named Rahm Emanuel. In his words, "A gun in the hand of an adolescent is either an accident or a crime waiting to happen." Whether he intends to say that all adolescents are criminals, or just mechanically incompetent, is not clear. A man who can say that must be an inhabitant of another planet and thus cannot be expected to communicate accurately in English.

Then, obviously, he is well qualified to be Mayor of Chicago. QED.

Rush got it wrong.  He "jumped the gun." The Illinois Supreme Court actually ordered that ballots without Rahm Emanuel's name on it NOT be printed.
Ooooooooooops.
Thanks Rush! 'Preciate that! :ek: :ek:

The reason for the contention is residency. Funny things.

One he owns a house in Chicago right by Wrigleyville. He rented the house out.

Two. Never got it inspected as a rental property and paid homeowners property taxes as a non resident of the state. A no no.

Three. the house is market valued at $1.2 million. It's assessed value was $128,000 on the books. Somebody dropped a zero from it's worth and of course property taxes are paid on assessed value. So he has been paying one tenth of the required property taxes.

In other words, he's a perfectly normal, run-of-the-mill politician.

to all,

the city with the most appropriate name of all is Chicago.

in the native language of the local Indians, it means "place that smells BAD"!
(no joke!)
