Not meaning to make a pun: How absolutely, totally, utterly cool!

I haven't seen that since I was a tad.

Walt, were you being pushed/pulled by the Heisler?

I saw a bunch of Shays in the yard, but the engine on your train looked different.

When we were visiting the Alaskan Inside Passage, in late summer, a few years ago, we saw the rotary plow and most of its consist in the Skagway yard, down by the ferry terminal.
Even unfired and standing still, it's pretty impressive.
Thanks for letting me see it in action!

Someone else made that video - I honestly don't know which engine was doing the duty on my ride.

Here's what they have in the stable.

Steam Rotary I'm sure it's louder than a funnycar but the video doesn't capture that part.
That elicited a odd reaction .... somewhere, sometime in my past, I've seen that kind of plow....on TV....in a movie....documentary -- somewhere. I don't recall where, all I know is I am sure I've seen it before.
An interesting and effective mechanism in any case. Thanks for posting it!:D

Better to get pushed than pulled in those open observation cars.
Soot and cinders get to you pretty bad sometimes.
