I just bought a used 1967 Remington 1100. I failed to clean it before shooting it first. The next day I cleaned it and found that the Breech Bolt was gouging out the top of the Receiver. I am thinking this might be due
to the Link being burred up and the Action Spring worn out.

Thank You for any information that you can give me.

The breechbolt shouldn't contact the top of the receiver in norrmal operation. I concur with the opinon about seeking competent assistance. Might be as easy as a really good cleaning or something not being put back where it's supposed to be. On the other hand......................

Given that it's a '67, I'd replace all the springs in the recoil system.

typically, 1100s are a cheap fix- o rings and springs, regardless of age- while you many not need springs, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much "better" the gun feels with new innards
