Can anyone direct me to a reputable dealer, or reputable person, that would have a replacement stock available for a 1943 Springfield M-1 Garand? I am attempting to refinish this rifle in order that I can present it to my father in honor of his father's service in WW II. I would also like to find the correct butt plate as well. Any tips, advice, help, guidance, etc., will be greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for a correct stock with original inspector markings for the rifle's vintage it will cost $200-$400 or more for a nice stock. If your are looking for a "new" or excellent replacement stock and buttplate just for a new appearance than there are other options. New stocks sets can be had for $120-$250.

If your are refinishing the rifle then it sounds like any nice stock or nicely refinished stock set would work.
