BTDT. Sometimes it was a live CS grenade. Officers were never happy when the CSM was around. :mrgreen:

Hmmm, I remember a rattlesnake in a second looeys sleeping bag in Colorado.

We were having problems with some officers not putting on their masks when an alarm was rang. So, The Old Man agreed to let the CSM see if he would give some NBC instructions. I got the 1Sgt to go up wind and lay some smoke on area. Once it was covered and everyone was supposed to be masked I tossed in some CS. Even got the XO. mg:

I took some fuse and poked it into a hole I drilled in a metal canister that normally holds welding electrode.

Rolled it into the next door neighbor's wood working shop during the Thursday night poker game about a case of beer into the festivities while shouting "Bomb !"...

It took a couple of seconds but then panic ensued.

I stayed gone for a while...

I think every one of us has a " grenade " story- mine is in barracks at night- ie 3am- and straight out a 3rd story window into 6 feet of snow- NAKED..
after that we learned the importance of posting a watch, guard, or whatever you care to call it

I have no idea whether this story is true or not but it is a good example of swift and sure justice:

A hardware store was plagued by burglaries so somebody took an old practice pineapple, replaced the primer, cut off the fuse section and filled it with black powder. Sure enough the grenade disappeared.

Sometime later the new owner went to a local liquor house where he had previous issues, shouted foul language at the occupants and prepared to stylishly throw it.

Reports stated it was very messy.mg:

Charlie, I heard a similar one about a guy hiding a stick or two of TNT in his vacuum cleaner with a blasting-cap wired to the switch.

Also, one with a live rattlesnake in a thief-bait suitcase.

Come to think of it, I think I saw those both in George Hayduke's various tomes on creative retribution...
