A very interesting piece here.

One thing that has been lost in the shuffle of media cycles has been that when Donald Trump ran for President, he talked about investigating the Iraq War, and the intelligence that went into setting that war into motion.

At the time, it was one of many things out there, and as the intelligence community proved out to be the source of a "Russia rumor," that line seemed to get lost in the every day reporting.

Here is an interesting rumormill type piece, from someone claiming to be close to some of the players. It seems to imply that some of the folks who worked up some of the Iraq intelligence, leading up to that war, were tight with the folks who worked up the infamous frottage dossier.

The 64,000 Dollar, or Pound, question for me is this: If these were long time players, and were involved in the early 2000s Iraq Intelligence Assessment, might they have also been involved in the Intelligence Assessments leading up to Operation Desert Fox in 1998? Someone would have had to work up the intelligence for that operation, which took place in the midst of the Clinton scandals, and which sold UK Prime Minister Tony Blair on the idea that Iraq was working up WMD programs again. That convincing of Prime Minister Blair had impact down the road as well. Just some thoughts that I have been pondering.

There may be nothing to this, and it may just be industrial grade bullroar from someone close to a couple players, or claiming to be, who wants their fifteen minutes of fame. It may just be that, we will see. I am actually really worried about posting this.

Anything is at least possible.

In all the scheming and plotting by the Obama administration, the Justice Department, and the FBI, CIA Director Clapper and NSA Director Brennan always seem to be lurking in the near back ground.

Brennan in particular seems to have had a real "case" against Trump.

I found this to be interesting David and is about half way through the read still got to finish

In these discussions I stressed that Flynn was indispensable. He was perhaps the only campaign advisor who both had Trump's personal trust and the deep intelligence experience necessary to expose hidden problems in the intelligence community. At one point, I even recall telling Halper that taking Flynn out would be like "beheading" Trump's team. I had no idea I had been unintentionally aiding a spy preparing the guillotine and helping lead Flynn to exactly such a beheading.

About those "hidden problems". There are apparently, and should be, several opinions on how to interpret certain information. Obviously, there are those career minded individuals who will tailor analysis to suit the inclinations of an administration or their particular prejudice. I don't recall where I read it, but some fairly recent intel chief developed the idea of having 3 cases prepared: best case, worst case, and middle of the road and would present all 3. Or at least, they'd fight it out in house.

Found this calling the author's a piece of BS and believe his supposition of the author.

Third, Schrage notes he was interviewed by John Durham. Horsepucky. Durham doesn't interview anyone; someone else does, someone very specific; and the fact that Schrage has no clue who that person is implies an aspect to the side-show he now presents as total nonsense. In short, this is a distraction story…. Look over there…. shiny things.
