This came in the mail today --- and somehow I feel like I just received a handjob from a 88 year old man

I did a search on this on Thomas.gov & found it was placed on the calender, but not the date. Since the senate is adjourned right now, when will this come up?

I can't find a compaion bill in the house either. I can't believe they haven't tried to bring this up over there.
Alarmed, both houses of Congress reconvene on the 7th of September, the day after Labor Day. The Democrats 2004 platform has this to say:

"We will protect Americans' Second Amendment right to own firearms, and we will keep guns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists by fighting gun crime, reauthorizing the assault weapons ban, and closing the gun show loophole, as President Bush proposed and failed to do."

Sam---

Thanks for that link -- I have already sent a copy of it to a radio show host that I keep up a dialog with. He is at the Demo-rat convention and is hosting his "Statewide Talkline" from "radio row" there.
Today, he had on a Congressman Ross from Arkansas who was espewing some mumbo jumbo how the Democrats are not "going to take away your guns or gun rights. Heck, I am a member of the NRA and I still use the same rifle to hunt with that I had as a little boy"
And how Senator Kerry is a sportsman and a gun owners friend :barf:
I sat on hold for over 40 minutes, the whole time looking up facts on the internet to back up my arguement --- and the guy finally brings me on air at 11:57 (the show goes off the air at 12:00 noon) :(
I did not get on long, but I made sure to make the points of how the NRA rates Kerry a F -- and that on the last 55 gun related votes cast by Senator Kerry, he has voted against the gun owners 50 times (90.91% average)
