Low ARMS #22 throw lever rings should work fine. With any other brand rings you will need to go with medium or high. The problem is more with clearing the rear sight aperature than the forearm.
Also, with the older style #18 mount with only two mounting points for the rings you might have trouble with eye relief. Depending on where the objective lens starts to taper, you could be limited to how far the scope can be moved rearward in the rings. I have had to use Weaver extension rings on a couple of my setups to get the necessary eye relief. If you're tall and long armed you might not have this problem. I'm kinda stocky. :lol:
