I'm catching up on this--only a couple more episodes to watch, thank heavens.

It's loosely--VERY loosely--based on Hunter's Black Light, which I coincidentally just happened to re-read. The book is MUCH better.

The series is starting to remind me of those ridiculous Bourne movies--all chases and shootouts, with little plot to hold them together. Or little plot that makes sense, anyway.

It's also reminding me of the dreadful old Man from UNCLE series, where Napoleon Solo got captured every week just so the villain could explain his evil scheme.

Bob Lee Swagger deserves better. I hope they're paying Hunter an absolute buttload of money for this crap.

Hey! "THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E." was one of my favorites growing up! Don't badmouth it! And Solo DID NOT get captured every week!

The series did become an ugly parody of itself in season 3. They realized it and tried to correct it in season 4, but the glitter had worn off, and there would be no season 5.

OPEN CHANNEL D.

TommyGunn, who wonders why, if they were supposed to be "secret agents," all their communicator pens were personalized with their names on them?

Mine too! And yes he did, or damn near every week.

Couple decades ago one of the cable networks reran the whole series and I dutifully taped and re-watched every single episode. I couldn't BELIEVE how inane and ridiculous the whole thing was, or that I had EVER thought it was great. (Well, I was 12 at the time.)

Still a fan, though, sorta. Just last week I bought another copy of the recently reissued UNCLE Special Piranha "spy car" model kit, and I still hope someday to chop a spare barrel for my (real) P.38 and mount an M16A1 flash hider on it--and of course square off the mainspring housing area of the grips. I MUST have one!

Are you sure he wasn't just undercover?:neer:
I have the dvd boxed set. The 1st season is the best. Third was [email protected] It was basically fantasy adventure.
A better, more serious spy show from that era was SECRET AGENT MAN.
