The platform:

Article II. Purpose

We are socialists because we reject an economic order based on private profit, alienated labor, gross inequalities of wealth and power, discrimination based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, disability status, age, religion, and national origin, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo. We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality and non-oppressive relationships. We are socialists because we are developing a concrete strategy for achieving that vision, for building a majority movement that will make democratic socialism a reality in America. We believe that such a strategy must acknowledge the class structure of American society and that this class structure means that there is a basic conflict of interest between those sectors with enormous economic power and the vast majority of the population.

We are very close to a real civil war IMNSHO. With Congresswoman Mad Max Waters and Pelosi pumping up the rabble we may need to start carrying any time we are out and about.

I've been trying all morning to visualize what a "new civil war" would look like.

I can't imagine the Left taking up arms and storming Washington DC. I can imagine the Right doing it, but only if things get a LOT worse than they are now (i.e., not under Trump).

I can imagine numerous small-scale, regional skirmishes, especially in and around certain cities.

I can imagine California seceding or trying to join Mexico. And Oregon and Washington might join them.

I'm really having trouble imagining an all-out, hot, violent "civil war" for control of the US government.

But I could be wrong. It's happened before.

Might not hurt to think of things in terms of the Viet Cong in South Vietnam, or the Mau-Maus. Just imaginin', here....
Snake45,

While I would NOT argue at all about comparing the CRIMINAL/LEFTIST CRAZIES of the USA to the CRIMINAL Mau-Maus of 1950s Kenya, I wouldn't necessarily lump the Vietcong in with either group, as Charlie was a dedicated/well-trained/determined guerrilla fighter, who was seeking freedom for his view of VietNam.
Make no mistake: Today's breed of American leftist/progressive scum is every bit as dedicated and determined to their evil cause as the most hardcore VC. And they too are "seeking freedom for their view" of America.

But you're right about them not being well-trained guerrilla fighters. And I don't believe many if ANY of them are interested in or willing to die for their cause. Life is too good in 2018 America--too much to live for, dontcha know.
Today's and tomorrows Democrat party ain't your Dad's Dem party.
It's going HARD Left and will accelerate, especially if they fail this Fall.
In that case I look for a split in the party with some sort of Social Democrat hard left party splitting off, or the Old Dem party doing the splitting off.
Many of them already have. They've become Republicans or Independents. This is why the Dims need to create new voters from foreign countries, convicted felons, teenagers, etc. And don't forget that they've already murdered tens of millions of their own potential voters in the womb.

Many nominal Democrats voted for Trump. We know this because Trump is in the White House and got there via regularly reliable blue states.

Interestingly, the very first two all-in Trump supports I know--like within days of his escalator announcement--are lifelong liberal Dems who both voted for Gore, Kerry, and Maobama twice. They'd finally had enough, and were ready to try Something Else. They're both glad they did, no regrets at all.
I wasn't a Donald fan when he first started to run, but I sure as hell am now.
You are not alone, my friend. You are legion. You are LEGIONS of LEGIONS.

The assier the Dims get, the more millions of Trump fans/supporters they create.
