I heard yesterday on Fox News that recently the British forces were conducting a live fire exercise on the Kuwati border. Hearing this, a "large force" of Iraqi soldiers rushed over to them, throwing down their arms and surrendering. The British turned them back over their border, saying "Not yet, gentlemen. not yet- wait for the War."

Hope the rest of the war goes that smoothly.

Best wishes to our troops and our allies, always.

I believe General H. Norman Schwarzkopf said it best -

"Going to war without the French is like going deer hunting without your accordian."

Sorry to reply to my own post, but it wasn't Schwarzkopf... he reitterated it recently... but, Jed Babbin originally said it. He was a former deputy undersecretary of defense in the first Bush administration.

He said it during a 30 January 2003 appearance on the political talk show Hardball.
. . . you know frankly, going to war without France is like going deer hunting without an accordion. You just leave a lot of useless noisy baggage behind.
Priceless.
