There are some modern amenities. The grinder used to sharpen the saws looked like it was air or electric powered with the generator or compressor being powered with steam.
The saws looked like they were carbide tipped.
Decades ago I went on the self guided tour of the mill in Scotia, California where they debarked and cut redwood trees into lumber. The trees were debarked with high pressure water. The main saw was a huge vertical bandsaw that must have been over twenty feet of cutting surface. It wasn't steam powered but it was impressive.
