Hello all, I found a nice early Inland M1 serial number 838,xxx. The rifle has an IBM barrel and a Benicia Arsenal stamp on the stock. The strange thing is the JPL initials of the inspector (John P. Lewis) is upside down as shown below. Has anyone seen this? The stock is also stamped with the cross cannon on the right side and has J-P stamped in the hole for the sling.

I'm curious if this is a legit stamp (why would someone fake a stamp incorrectly?) and if anyone knows what year it may have gone through Benicia.

Thanks!

Ryan
