Was on business last week in Anniston, AL......hmmm.......had to go to the CMP South store.
(I was like a blind dog in a meat house.)
Now finally a M1 Garand owner. Bought a SA 5.4 SG "Special" with new wood, all SA parts, 1965 barrel... This basically looks like a new rifle. ( see pic ). Have not fired a Garand since the early 60's at NRA. Shot a 3" group at 100 on my first attempt.
I cannot say enough about how great the people were at the CMP store!

thanks ED

I found a nice Imperial M5 bayonet (post Korea) at a gun show.

My only mistake was buying some Remington Express Core-Lokt 30-06 150gr. modern ammo!

I heard its not good for the ole 50's gal to shoot modern high pressure cartridges?

I'm glad you left with a new family member.... I drive through Anniston and it is hard not to adopt a new child each time..... Lately, I've shown constraint though.

Hope you enjoy your Garand as much as we addicts do :)

Best,

Gerry (OnTargetFL)
