Some thoughts on news reporting from an informed observer:

Breaking news; pay your tax; Martinmas « Chaos Manor - Jerry Pournelle

The whole Herman Cain brew-ha-ha seems to be sourced by one lawyer, who refuses to say ANYTHING that can be verified.

I suggest Mr. Cain:

1. Bring charges against the lawyer and ask for a disbarment.
2. Sue the pants off the lawyer for slander.

Geoff
Who notes disbarment almost never happens, the shysters just tell the guy to surrender his law license and then never admit the guy was ever a lawyer...cross reference Barrack H. Obama no longer a lawyer in IL, despite the fact that several lawyers there have FELONY CONVICTIONS and are still lawyers in IL.

I saw it noted elsewhere that to date there have been more than ninety stories on major networks re the Cain "scandal" containing naught other that hearsay and innuendo.

By comparison, Juanita Broaddrick got three stories, Kathleen Willey got three also and Paula Jones got one.

And they all had a heckuva lot more specific charges against the Slickster.

Journalism is mostly dead in this country.

When you hear the term "mainstream media," think "Ministry of Propaganda," as that's what it has become--nothing more, nothing less.

My bad, I should have keyed honest journalism - and I'm feeling a bit gray this p.m. myself.

I'm on my 5th pickup load of leaves...
"Journalism" is supposed to be honest by definition. Sadly, that seems to no longer be the case.

I blame Hunter Thompson, who proved that you could show up drunk, stoned, and late (if at all) to a story, and still get paid in fame and fortune for it.
