The Question Which Must Be Asked of All NRA BoD Candidates:
"Would You Sacrifice the Sunset of the Assault Weapons Ban in Return for Passage of Federal Legislation Banning Malicious Lawsuits Against the Firearms Industry?"

If you know any who are currently standing for Election or re-Election to the NRA Board of Directors, urge them to visit that page and state their position.

Dean, as I told you via e-mail, I'm supporting Jim Nicholson, Current NRA board member and former president of the Texas State Rifle Association. He's currently their web master and an active participant to the news board tx.guns and a damn good friend.

I also told you I'm working against Sue King's re-election even though she's a Texican. Has to do with her resigning from the TSRA board and some fibs she told about a friend of mine.

Remember guys, the fewer candidates you vote for, the stronger your votes for a favored candidate becomes.

As a rule, I vote for anyone nominated by petition, but not by the committee. My default is to vote against anyone nominated by the committee. I will make exceptions, on an individual basis. For example, I've always voted for Colonel Cooper and the late General Foss.

And Member in excellent standing of the original SSBB back in '94-'96.

He's a good man and, not surprisingly, the first of those standing this year to respond.

Dean, thanks for the heads up.

My position and that of NRA/ILA is to go into the fight for S 659 (lawsuit bill) with no compromise toward the AWB. NRA/ILA has 60 sponsors for S 659, enough to get the job done. The plan was to get it passed in 2003 so it would not be an issue when AWB sunset came up. Didn't happen, but doesn't matter. We will be called every name in the book by our enemies and the press, but standing firm is the plan.

Our enemies will be trying to trade off AWB for S 659. Should not happen. Won't happen. It will be a harder fight than was anticipated six months ago. GWB would do well to take notice of our resoluteness and not play hanky panky with his campaign promise to sign the AWB extension. He can lose more support than he will gain. Remember Bush 41! Remember Clinton and his clones lost 20 House seats following AWB passage. We stand together, we survive together.
