My favorite gunfight movies include the original The Getaway, Ronin, and Heat. And the first two Dirty Harry movies.

My favorite is, 'Heat', followed by, 'Miami Vice II'. Another good one is the little known Nick Nolte & Powers Boothe movie, 'Extreme Prejudice'. The original, 'Getaway' movie with Steve McQueen & Ali MacGraw is, in my opinion, truly a classic crime/shootout movie!

I have been impressed with the quality of the gunfight scenes in the Netflix series Hell on Wheels. Cullen uses a Colt Navy, and in one scene he marched into the street to face about four bad guys.

"Here it comes," I thought, "the fifteen-shot revolver."

Instead, after I counted five shots, Cullen took cover, yanked the empty cylinder, replaced it with a loaded one (with six) from his belt, and returned to the fracas.

+1 on Hell on Wheels. I also recommend 3:10 to Yuma (if you're looking for Old West Gunfighting). The recently released on DVD/Bluray 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi has some excellently staged modern combat gunfighting.

One frightening ....sad.... movie. Speaking of not knowing friends from enemies.......
WASHINGTON DC sure "screw#D the pooch" on that.....the men on the ground over there were terrific.
