Pretty good kick-off last night! Especially liked the M1 carbine challenge. The team challenge was also quite interesting and well thought out. Was surprised that it went so close.
Some random observations:
* The two teams were put together "randomly" (for all practical purposes), yet each team "just happened" to end up with one of the two women and one of the two African Americans. Anyone else find this curious or interesting? I wonder what the mathematical probability of that is. I'm no math whiz but near as I can deduce, the odds of the four of them being squadded that way is 25%. And then there's the odds of all four of them (or, for that matter, any four shooters you'd care to designate) passing the first-shot elimination and making the Top 16 in the first place, which I make as 62.4%. So the actual odds of the two women and the two African Americans both making the top 16 cut AND being squadded with one woman and one AA on each team are 62.4% X 25%, or 15.6%, or less than one in six (but more than one in seven). I smell a PC rat.
*If I'm not mistaken, in Seasons Two and Three, a woman was the first shooter eliminated, so I'm glad to see both ladies survived the first episode.
*Michelle is the hottest woman contestant they've ever had so far (IMHO). The other woman might be the second hottest.
* I don't have any favorites yet, but I've already taken a dislike to several contestants (the ones who seem to be running their mouths the most).
SPOILER ALERT on the next one (you might not want to read it if you haven't watched it yet).

*In the final elimination, the left-handed guy definitely had an advantage shooting from the sidecar. Apparently it wasn't enough of an advantage. I wonder if there would have been protests if the left-handed guy had won it.
