I have an offer to trade my AR-15, which is a S & W MP15 for a Springfield MC Operator. Would this be a good trade?

There is a stock M&P 15 here for $850 out the door and the MC Operator retails at closer to a grand. Depends on what you are looking for. Both are good weapon and from all reports the MC operator is a great 1911 and a preferred duty 1911 for LEOs that can carry one. The M&P 15 is a nice variant of the AR but S&W has a way to go to convince the public with these, PD's maybe as part of a package deal. I'd say even deal depending on condition, etc.

I'd jump on that. You can build an AR thats just as good for $600-$700.
