Amazing. I just read an impartial and reasoned treatise on the silliness of the recent gun control hysteria in the New York Times.

While there are certain numbers I might quibble with, on the whole it's a refreshing new development; I salute them for having the courage to publish a piece which flies in the face of their usual editorial stance:

I could be cynical and suggest the author just finished her bodywork and wants to get fired from the NYT as an express route to Fox News...
Geoff

I'd agree with you Geoff, except that the NYT published the thing. I wonder if this is the first shot (pun intended) in the Left's pre-election drive to distance themselves from positions that have been losers for them in the past. If so, its nice to see a hint of desperation creeping into their psyches.

I've heard they've been critical of King Hussein's "foreign policy" (had to put it in quotes) here lately, too. Has someone STOPPED putting something in the water at the NYT office?

NOPE. The editors of THE NY SLIMES can read "the handwriting on the wall" about the 2014 elections (The DIMocRATS are going to get SLAUGHTERED at the polls & will long for Election Night 2010 this time.) & don't like LOOKING FOOLISH. -, That's all that it is, imVho.

yours, sw

Mummmmm....some land mines planted there. Republicans get the blame for failure of universal background checks and renewal/strengthening of the EBR/hi-cap mag ban. No recognition that it wouldn't affect illegal gun sales. I wonder where they found 59% of a population to ban the so-called assault weapons earlier correctly identified as regular weapons with cosmetic issues.

Before BHO, I took home about 70% of my paycheck. Now I'm lucky to get 60%. Plus I'm losing employer funded medical insurance when I retire. Thanks dude!
