Way back when were some BM-59s imported by Beretta or their agents?

I also remember Springfield offering BM-59s for a few years, were those parts kit guns?

Who couldn't afford one, sigh. If I knew then....

Golden State arms made some under license from Beretta. I think they were in business in the 60s.

My M1A ame from that era. They overextended themselves trying to make and market clones of all the major Western battle rifles of the day.
My rifle came with a catalog listing FAL and HK clones.
Alas, that was one of the things that nearly did them in, back in the '90s.

Skeptic49; bearcat,

YEP, both Springfield Armory & Golden State imported parts kits & assembled them for sale.

also, Beretta also sold some of their (mostly H&R) rebuilds in the 1970s to police agencies & perhaps a few to civilians. - my local SO still has at least two of the SA/FA ones in their armory.

IF a person wants to go to the trouble & has access to a machine shop, J&G Gunranch will sell you a parts kit (with mostly NEW "PB" parts & 2 new magazines)
AND
the instructions on how to make your own semi-auto/first model BM59, for about 300.oo.

yours, satx
