A TV commercial for Land Rover has been pulled after complaints about the featured female firing a starter pistol in the air:

"Given regular coverage of high-profile shooting incidents and public concern about the wider social impact of the so-called gun culture, the glamorisation and normalisation of guns, even indirectly, is simply offensive to many people."

I remember England........

Oh, yes. I remember England.

When the Hun over-ran western Europe, an activity which was expedited by the immediate surrender of the French, the English begged American gun owners to send their personal firearms to England so the homeland defenders could have something to repulse the invaders.

We did so.

Then after the war was won because of America's entry into the battle, the English were remiss in their obligation to return the loaned weapons.

The once-heroic Brits have become effete. Sir Winston is probably rolling over in his grave.

Every time I hear about that, I'm thinking "GRAND THEFT AUTO LONDON CITY"!
Most of the police don't carry guns... no citizen carries a gun... It's wide open for a rampaging spree.
