Don't Clay Pigeons...

...normally go up into the air for skeet?

President Obama has only been skeet shooting twice at most, according to a source who has been to Camp David on at least a half-dozen trips with President Obama.

"The only time he shot skeet was for President's Cup," the source told Fox News, referring to a biennial shooting competition tradition involving the presidential Marine guards. "I was there. He stayed for about five minutes, and couldn't leave fast enough."

"He couldn't have been more uncomfortable," the source added.

The comments come after an Obama interview with the New Republic, where he said, "we do skeet shooting all the time" up at Camp David...

I've never seen anyone shoot skeet not leaning forward. Not after the first time, anyway.

If he were standing stone straight like that, wouldn't the gun be rocking him back a little upon firing, as the photo purports to show (the smoke looks photoshopped to me)?

I find it odd that the only photo snapped of him with a gun comes just as he fires. If this were a frequent event, wouldn't there be photos of him palling around with his fellow shooters?
If you see the quote I furnished above, it's not a frequent event. I have no doubt that it's a staged photo and a friend retired from federal law enforcement points out that the USSS keeps around a few presidential doppelgangers so it may not even be of Big Brother himself. (I've never paid attention, in the photos of him signing those bills that he actually signs in person, whether he wears his watch on the left hand.)

To ALL,

It comes down to this: ZERO IS A SERIAL LIAR & the truth is a stranger to that CREEP.
(I keep asking myself, "What did we all do to deserve him & his coven of Chicago CROOKS???")

That hold looks kind of painful, is it just me or does he have one corner of the stock in his shoulder and not the full plate? I won't knock it if it works for him though.

I'm not doubting that he did it, at that angle he may either have been firing at it as it came right off the launcher or he was taking a longer shot at a falling target.

It's fascinating to see all the theories about it though.

Here Are Some Other Views

The White House released Saturday a photo of President Obama firing a shotgun at Camp David, Md. on Aug. 4, 2012.

The CEO of Browning, Travis Hall, told The Washington Times in an email that, "I am fairly sure it is a Browning Citori. Cannot tell the model from the pic but a sporting clays version."

As the president is left handed, it could be the 12 gauge Citori 625 Sporting Golden Clays, adjustable comb, left hand. It features a gold engraving of a game bird transforming into a clay target on the receiver and retails for $4,799.

Mr. Obama told New Republic this month that, "Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time."

While skeet sends the clays high into the air from positions to the left and right, the White House photo shows Mr. Obama angling the firearm directly level...

...Asked at Monday's press briefing how frequently Obama shoots skeet and whether photos existed, White House press secretary Jay Carney said he didn't know how often. Pictures may exist, he said, but he hadn't seen any.

"Why haven't we heard about it before?" Carney was asked.

"Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs," Carney said.

Obama is accompanied almost everywhere by at least one White House photographer...

...A top official with the National Skeet Shooting Association said the photo suggests Obama is a novice shooter.

"This isn't something he's done very often because of how he's standing, how he has the gun mounted," said Michael Hampton, executive director of the San Antonio-based association.

Hampton said Obama's remark about "skeet shooting all the time" and the White House photo would have met less skepticism had the president's spoken about his hobby months before this new debate over guns in the U.S...

Zero's wristwatch is on the wrong wrist for a leftie.

So the guy likes to shoot skeet. Have fun.
The second amendment isn't about "sporting purpose(s)."
If you look at other photos of him, he always wears his watch on that side...either that, or they always reverse all of the photos of him.

The stance and hold looks very awkward…but if it's his first time shooting; I could see such a hold. With light loads and a fairly heavy sporting clays gun he wouldn't necessarily get rocked back. But he's pretty thin, so maybe he would. But at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter.

The idea of him shooting is just a flashback to Dukakis in an M1 - BS politics. He's just trying to convince the fence sitters that he's "one of us". Personally, I would have had MUCH more respect if he just came out and said that he hates guns and gun owners everywhere. I can respect that…I don't agree with it, but I can respect it. This is such a blatant case of trying to sell something, and it's so poorly done. Are you trying to tell me they couldn't find ONE left wing skeet shooter to just properly take him through a course the right way just once? Man I used to run into them all the time. L A M E ! ! !

Well, I never really thought that O's "handedness" -- or which wrist he wore his watch on, was a important issue. I guess I was really being cute by trying to make a snarky observation unrelated to O's poor stance with the shotgun.
It is exactly as you say -- "BS" politics, publishing a photo of the pres. firing a longgun in a "gentleman's sport." We all know the 2A is not about blowing up flying discs, irregardless of whether or not they've been identified.
I suppose I could agree that if he simply said "I hate guns and those who own them" I could respect him more. I don't think it's psychologically possible to respect anyone less.
Well....it IS a poorly done sell. You're right about that....let's just leave it there.

As a Matter of Fact...

Obama trying to shoot a shotgun looks like a girl trying to pee standing up.
When I was about 20 years old, I had a friend who told me that she had figured out a system to pee standing up. I never saw her do it but I suspect that she could do a better job of it than Big Brother did with that shotgun.
