Is that how you replace the barrel band?

 

Yes,
You will have to pull the front sight and remove the key and the band just slips off. Remove the front sight pin left to right, install it right to left.

 

Ok-I might just have to invest in the above tool. My barrel band screw is stripped and won't tighten now. I need to replace it.

 

Good idea Denny, as there is no good way to fix that besides replacing the band. Be sure the key goes back the same way it comes out of the keyway, or it will wobble. The slot or notch in it is NOT centered, so it has to go back in the way it comes out, and should be tight in the keyway.

 

I put a dot on the muzzle end of the key with a majic marker. Nobody is going to see it anyway, and that keeps it in the right direction. Simple, but it works.
